Muffins With Mom/Special Friend Problem Solving

This morning we solved the problem: How many muffins were purchased for the Muffins With Mom/Special Friend event this Friday?  The mathematicians first worked to decide what information was needed to sove this problem and then they used that information to calculate a total!

Great Problem Solving lesson idea Mr Ranek!

Mr. Ferris and His Wheel Activity

I read aloud a book entitled, Mr. Ferris and His Wheel and then Mrs. Beck lead an interesting discussion about various familar monuments.  Following our discussion, the second graders worked in small groups to design and construct a monument to represent Hudson.
Such fantastic collaboration!
